What: The Sing Up Awards aim to recognise and celebrate schools that place singing at the heart of school life and support those who strive to achieve this. The Sing Up Awards:
• have been devised by arts education professionals in consultation with classroom teachers and music teaching specialists
• aim to recognise and celebrate schools that place singing at the heart of school life
• aim to support schools who wish to place singing at the heart of their school life
• aim to support schools and guide them on their journey through the Sing Up programme, ensuring they get the most from the resources and training available
• aim to share good practice and ideas between schools and showcase examples of innovative work
• are non-competitive - they provide a tool and mechanism for every school to achieve recognition for the work they do
• recognise differences and diversity between schools and classrooms, allowing participating schools to tailor objectives to reflect their individual circumstances
• embrace a whole-school philosophy
• support schools to identify areas they would like support in and to access that support through the rest of the Sing Up programme
