Teacher and Artist Creative Collaborations
Three projects, concentrating on teacher CPD and funded by the Training Development Agency, are now underway with 16 schools and 15 creative practitioners across Cumbria.
Cumbria Arts in Education is co-ordinating projects that focus on ‘Environment and Global Dimensions’ with South Lakes and Furness schools, ‘Teachers in the Early Stages of their Career’, with Wigton Cluster schools and ‘14-19 creative and new media diplomas’, with Carlisle secondary schools. The common strand is critical thinking and enquiry.
A leadership day for each project will facilitate the dissemination process where teachers share their learning. Projects are being externally evaluated by Wallace Heim (who also evaluated the three-year partnership project, Climate Change Explorer) and Christabel Kynch from the University of Cumbria.
