Working with Artists in Schools
What: The key to successful arts education residencies lies in planning, preparation and collaboration between the creative pracitioner and the school. Cumbria Arts supports this process through our whole day Continuing Professional Development (CPD) course to help you get the most out of your arts project. 
If you’re a primary or secondary school teacher, an early years’ practitioner, or perhaps a governor or teaching assistant and are interested in setting up an arts residency in your school, then this one-day course is for you. You'll get to hear about case studies from the teachers and artists involved, as well as practical tips on applying for funding or finding an artist to work with.
Who: This course is aimed at education professionals who have not previously worked with artists or those who would like to develop improved practice when working with artists.
The aims of the course are to:
• investigate sources of funding for projects, including Cumbria Arts Open Grants programme
• explore benefits of arts in education residencies for all participants
• offer practical advice on setting up and running a project
• share good practice
Cost: £115 per person, including refreshments, lunch & useful resource pack. Places are strictly on a first come, first served basis and are limited to a maximum of 12 participants per course.

Introduction to Creativity
Cumbria Arts in Education and Creative Partnerships Cumbria will jointly lead a twilight session to explore what is meant by 'creativity'.
For: Headteachers, governors, teaching and support staff from within Early Years, Primary, Secondary or PRU settings
